sharpie madness
Here's three sketches. The first one is a tattoo that ive been working to perfect for about 6 years, because someday (when i have money) I want to get it as a tattoo. It is a 'celtic' cross with a sun instead of a circle, to remind me of Tom Conally who told me "Never stop smiling Sunshine". I barely knew this man, but he taught me to stay positive even when life throws me down.
There is also here a sketch of the song "Living Just Enough for the City". Its old school, but so powerful.
Last is my cat Tito, the biggest, cutest trouble maker =)

acrylic gesture
Hello! This is another gesture of my little sister done in colorful acrylic. It really makes me happy how much I can see the resemblance with it being such a rough creation. The brighter the colors in the piece the more fun a creation it is for me. Im working on a nightmare series that should be very drastic and exciting and can't wait to have it finished and posted

So these are two quick sketches that I did of my little sisters when I was home from spring break. I'm actually one of seven kids (were Irish catholic, and very stereotypical, needless to say beer tomorrow and a parade this weekend!)Every time I come home we all draw and paint together. The little ones call me professor lissa as an honorary title.

First post
Well this is my first post, my name is Melissa and I am an artist. I love to paint draw and make jewlery, and am in love with etsy. I am 20 (tommorow) and am in college as an art major. My art teacher had me look up a bunch of blogpages and I thought that it would be a good way to keep track of my art progress. So here we go!
I started out in art in the begining of highschool. I was told that I couldnt draw worth a two year old. And, being stubborn, I bought a sketch book and taught myself. 6 years later here I am!
But here is my first painting (sold). This is a nude that I painted last year in the studio, part of a series of nudes in bold colors. A women had me add on her tattoo to the side of it and, though I liked it better before, it was very pleasing to add the personal touch for her.
